Finally...again!

As a part time gig, writing is a lengthy endeavor.
Early this year I thought I was on pace to self publish my novel in April. Not even close! Here it is early August and I'm still a good three weeks out. The good news is that if everything goes well when the next proof edition arrives I may be able to open up ordering by early September.
Friend Vicki Bauman did an excellent job editing over the past three weeks and I feel the novel is pretty darn tidy! I have one more person that will read, review and look for any grammar errors and then...and then I think it's ready!
It's been pretty motivating the last few weeks, I really feel the novel is ready to go, just want one more set of eyes to review it.

Books are almost ready to order!

It's been a crazy couple of weeks. Hard at work trying to get the ebook and paperback ready for release.

Lot's of learning, lot's of editing.

I feel like I'm helping my characters get their story out in the open, and it's time! They've been held back from sharing the secrets they have learned and from the journey they want to continue.

I hope you will meet them soon and enjoy reading how they come together to battle an evil that has been terrorizing Havenswood Valley for many decades. You'll meet the three main characters as well as their new group of extended friends. All will work together towards winning the fight against something none of them would imagine ever being possible.

I'm excited to share, and thankful you have taken the time to keep updated. Looks like March for the release. I will keep this blog updated!

Ok, time to get serious! I will post a description of my novel tomorrow. I hope to have it ready for Amazon by February 1st! Thanks for your interest! You can read a bit on my blog.

Ready for market!

     After a full revision, The Voyageurs: Discovery in Havenswood Valley is ready for marketing! Pretty fun, pretty nervous, but it's time to send out some query letters and see if anyone will bite on my novel. It will be interesting to hear the feedback and see what I will need to do for a successful launch.
     A few ideas to work on, I'll keep you posted!

Finally Done!

The book is finished!

 

Now what in the heck am I supposed to do? 

 

I knew this day would come, just happened quicker than I thought. Yes, I did read that you are supposed to be promoting your book as soon as you can, but how can that be possible with so much life going on?

 

Give me an editor and an agent, that would have helped. But hey, I am looking forward to this part of the project. Figuring out a way to finance the editing, looking at what the published book can look like,( I really want a traditional hardback ), and just executing the process will be a great win for me. 

 

The way I am looking at this is like it will be a product to launch, an event to be held, a party to be thrown! It will be fun, crazy, hard work, long hours but the best part is I really feel good about how the story came through and I'm already thinking of how to start book two in the series. 

 

Time to get started!

 

 

Staying Focused!

Another chapter finished last night, starting a new one this evening. J'net said she feels the momentum rolling towards the ending, which is what I need to hear! I have what I see as the next three or four chapters ready to write, just have to keep putting in the time!
